GROUP REFORMER CLASS
FEES: $160 per month
for 2 classes per week
$ 80 per month for 1 class per week
Class enrollment is limited
to 4, and a class will not be scheduled until there are at least three who have
signed-up and paid for the first month.
The class will progress
quickly with new “exercises” being added and with increasing pace and level of
difficulty, so it is important that every effort be made to stay with your
class.
Make-up for missed classes
will be very difficult because other classes may be at a different level. If
you miss more than two classes in a row you will need to schedule a private
“make-up” session with the instructor at $35 per hour.
In order to join a
pre-existing class, you will need to schedule at least two private “catch-up”
sessions with the instructor at $35 per hour.

What is Yoga?
Yoga is a mixture of physical, mental, and
spiritual traditions that began in India 5,000 years ago. the term yoga
comes from the Sankrit "yuj" meaning "to yoke" or to create a union between mind
and body. Hatha yoga combines asanas (postures) with pranayama (breathing)
and meditation / centering.
What are the Benefits of
Yoga Practice?
Yoga can increase strength and
flexibility, improve the functioning of the digestive, respiratory, endocrine
and immune systems, relieve stress, and promote mental clarity and
concentration. Most people report feeling better physically, mentally and
emotionally as a result of their yoga practice.
What are the
Medical Concerns of Yoga Practice?
If you have any physical conditions
(such as uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart condition, etc.) that prevent
you from safely engaging in physical activity please talk to your doctor before
signing up for class. Please inform your instructor of any physical
problems such as knee pain, lower back pain. Serenity Wellness Spa will
also ask you to sign a standard release form. The most important safety
measure is to listen to and honor your own body. Please do not attempt
anything that makes you uncomfortable.
What to bring?
A Yoga sticky mat is required to
provide safety in standing poses. A yoga sticky blanket is strongly
recommended. These and other yoga supplies can be purchased in our
Serenity Gift Boutique. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows
freedom of movement, and have an empty or nearly empty stomach (a light meal two
hours before class is fine). The practice is done with bare feet.

About the Instructor?
Deborah Garrison discovered yoga as
part of her own "mid-life" search for SERENITY, and has spent 15 years
practicing and teaching. She is currently a candidate for a Master of Yoga
Education Degree.
